Dental Care – Your Pets will Thank You for it!

Dental care can improve the overall quality of life for your pet. Here's why...

As your Hello Vet veterinarians, we want to remind you of the importance of dental care for your furry friends. Proper dental hygiene can prevent all sorts of dental problems like gum disease, tooth decay, and tooth loss. Plus, it can improve the overall quality of life for your pet.

Senior pets may be more prone to dental problems due to age and decreased immune function. It’s important to pay extra attention to their dental needs and schedule regular dental cleanings with a trusted veterinarian. These cleanings should be performed at least once a year, or more if necessary.

Adult pets also benefit from regular dental care. While they may not be as prone to dental issues as senior pets, it’s still important to practice good oral hygiene and schedule regular dental cleanings. These cleanings should be performed annually or more if necessary.

If your pet has bad breath, difficulty chewing, or visible tartar or plaque on their teeth, it’s time for a dental check-up. Don’t wait until your pet is in pain or experiencing dental issues before seeking treatment. If dental care is neglected, your pet may experience pain, infection, and tooth loss. Gum disease can also lead to more serious health problems such as heart, liver, and kidney disease.

In addition to regular cleanings, make sure to practice good oral hygiene at home. This includes brushing your pet’s teeth, providing dental chews and treats, and using a pet-specific toothpaste.

As your Hello Vet veterinarians, we encourage you to prioritize dental care for your pet.

Give us a call to schedule a dental consult where our experienced veterinarians will assess your pet’s teeth and work with you on a plan to ensure that your pet receives the best dental care possible.
